Moonshine Song

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine

Everybody needs love

We met each other on a dark night

Underneath the twinkling starlight

I remember what we said then

That we need a lover’s moon

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine

Everybody needs love

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine

Everybody needs love

Now I was drinking with my baby

She wasn’t acting like a lady

No shirt and lots of beads on

Like the Queen of Mardi Gras

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine

Everybody needs love

Yes she always drives me crazy

But she’s my one and only baby

That’s right we’re gonna’ marry

She’s the only girl for me

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine

Everybody needs love

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine

Everybody needs love

I’m not sure just what she sees here

She says she loves the real me

Says that I’m her one and only

How lucky can I be

Everybody loves Moonshine

Go and blame it on the Moonshine

Every lover needs Moonshine slow it down

Everybody needs love  slower and end

Take Me To The River

OK show of hands how many people here have been to the Colorado River. This song is about a few things that really happened on “my” first river vacation.

I met my kind of people

who work hard and have their fun

And you Colorado River girls you know you’re the ones

Yes I’ve seen things, down at the river

That get me all excited, make a grown man shiver

Cowboy hats and cowboy boots, was all they had on

And a little bit of something, that might have been uh huh

Music playing loud, from their pontoon boat

They even had a stripper pole, oh my, oh my, oh no!

Dancing for the boys as they slowly rode by

Perfect tans and suntan lotion working every note

I know they saw me looking, who am I to say

I saw them wave and smile at me, it took my breath away

Boys are boys and girls are girls I’m telling you today

Take me to the river on a hot sunny day

Thank god for you ladies, you know just what you do

Drive us men crazy until we act like fools

I know that there’s a God cause I’ve seen what he can make

Take me to the river on a hot sunny day

                                       Guitar solo

EEEEEEEE, EEEEEEEE,

AAAAAAAA, EEEEEEEE

BBBBAAAA, EEEEEEEE                             (whole phrase 2x)

Then it all went dark, hell I thought that I was dead

My baby took a beer bottle and broke it on my head

She said I got what it takes to keep your eyes my way

Take me to the river on a hot sunny day

Southern Wind

There’s a southern wind blowing in

And I don’t know if I can stay

You know I loved you here today

And let tomorrow come what may

Now the winds they keep a changing

They blow me from this place to that

But I’ve never been the kind of guy

There long enough to hang my hat

I’m a trucking man do what I can

To work and earn my pay

And if you want to spend the night

In the morning I’ll be on my way

There’s a southern wind blowin in

And I don’t know if I can stay

You know I loved you here today

And let tomorrow come what may

Solos      2x

You’re so good to me I know that

You will understand

That I carry you baby in my heart

And that I’ll be back when I can

There’s a southern wind blowing in

And I don’t know if I can stay

You know I loved you here today

And let tomorrow come what may

There’s a special place for you and me

And our time is here and now

Let’s not think about tomorrow

It’s gonna come anyhow

All my promises will be kept

In this little treasure chest of mine

When it’s full of gold I’ll take your hand

And we’ll leave this old border line

There’s a southern wind blowin in

And I don’t know if I can stay

You know I loved you here today

And let tomorrow come what may

There’s a southern wind blowin in

And I don’t know if I can stay

You know I loved you here today

Let tomorrow come what may

240 over 40

I don’t know if she’s going, for long

I just know I that I love her so

I think she knows how much I need her

I’ve got to know if she’s coming home

I’ve got 240 over 40,

I’ve two hundred forty miles to go miles to go

I’ve got 240 over 40

fore I rest my heart, rest my head

I can’t forget her soft perfume

I can still taste her tender lips on mine

I could look into her eyes forever

Her woman’s smile in our lovers bed

Such a long road that rides into the evening sun

Such a long road it is that we ride

But love it goes on forever

Stronger together side by side

Wide Open Spaces

I need wide open spaces

She needs stars on a moonless night           We want life at slower paces

To have some peace of mind

In the quiet of the prairie

In the silence we can find

The mystery and the meaning

The answer to the why

We’ll make a new home

Cause I could never go back

To the place that I was

To the me that I was then

I got lost in the night

I was caught up in the fight

I now will have enough time

To really see the mornings light

(chorus)

I need wide open spaces

She needs stars on a moonless night                              G

We want life at slower paces

To have some peace of mind

Where the antelope play

Where the cool waters lay

You’re my country road

And I am just a guy

Where the buffalo roam

We will find us a home

A small town on the plains

Where everyone knows your name

We’ll have a place to grow old

Have a place all our own

With neighbors we know

And early winters snow

I Was Waiting For You

I was waiting for you,

I was waiting for you

and you, were waiting for me

My friends always told me,

what you waiting for,

and I’d say, that I’m not sure

I’m looking for a girl

that turns my head around

that holds my heart and never lets go

I was waiting for you,

I was waiting for you

and you, were waiting for me

Now I’ve had women in my life,

loves have come and gone

Why they didn’t last I think I know

I’ve always known you’re out there,

I would wait a thousand years, I’d cry a thousand tears

looking for you

I was waiting for you,

I was waiting for you,

and you, were waiting for me

Since the day I found you, I live in paradise

I have true love in my life, I have you

Will you walk with me, this path of life

Be my wife, your husband’s eyes, love you

I was waiting for you,

I was waiting for you,

and you, were waiting for me

Malt Shop Baby

You’re my malt shop baby, just as sweet as can be

You’re my malt shop baby, just as sweet as can be

You’re all a man ever wanted

and all a man could ever need

When you see her walking by, gotta love that little tease

When you see her walking by, she going to make you say please

She’s all a man ever wanted

and all a man could ever need

Early in the morning, she gets down on her knees and prays

I tell you early in the morning, she gets down on her knees,

and prays

She’s all a man ever wanted

and all a man could ever need

When my baby smiles at me, I know what that means

When my baby smiles at me, I know what that means

That she’s found herself a man that

fills all her, loving’ needs

She’s my malt shop baby, just as sweet as can be

She’s my malt shop baby, just as sweet as can be

She’s all a man ever wanted

and all a man could ever need

You’re my malt shop baby, just as sweet as can be

You’re my malt shop baby, just as sweet as can be

You’re all a man ever wanted

and all a man could ever need

Does She Remember

Blowing cross the desert, off the beaten track

Not looking behind me, never looking back

Ya but I wonder does she remember my name

Ya but I wonder does she remember my name

In vain I wonder in vain

Clouds on the horizon, blowing cross the sand

It looks like rain, is coming to this land

Ya but I wonder, does she remember my name

Ya but I wonder, does she remember my name

In vain I wonder in vain

Oooooooh,      but I need her              (

Oooooooh,      don’t want to leave her

Does she remember my name, my name, my name…………

Blowin cross the desert, yes I’m headed back

I’m running for the storm, no plan of attack

And still I wonder, will she remember my name

And still I wonder, will she remember my name

In vain am I holding on in vain…………

Blowing cross the desert, off the beaten track

Not looking behind me, never looking back

Ya but I wonder does she remember my name

Ya but I wonder does she remember my name

In vain do I wander in vain

Because We Love

Go on out and see the world,                                But don't you lose your way when you're flying
It seems the truth, is changing every day

But your heart will always know, when you're lying

I know your running, running from me now
running like you've got to get away
yes you told me, our romance is over
I wished you all the best as you started again

Keep your love and tenderness, don't get lost in bitterness

Save the dreams you had, when we started
Do the things you need to do, don't forget the time we knew. Don't give up on love, cause’ we've parted

Because we love we all feel sadness

Because we love we all feel pain

Sometimes romance it causes blindness

Sometimes the truth will find a way

Keep your love and tenderness, don't get lost in bitterness
Save the dreams you had, when we started
Do the things you need to do, don't forget the time we knew. Don't give up on love, cause’ we’ve parted

Now you say, you can't tell right from wrong
confusion's pulled the reins tight in your soul
deep inside, thinking it makes sense
that the things you do will make you whole

In the darkness, following the hurt
running from a man who looks like me
please, stop and look inside
now tell me what it is you really see

Keep your love and tenderness, don't get lost in bitterness
Save the dreams you had, when we started
Do the things you need to do, don't forget the time we knew. Don't give up on love, cause’ we’ve parted

Keep your love and tenderness, don't get lost in bitterness
Save the dreams you had, when we started
Do the things you need to do, don't forget the time we knew. Don't give up on love, cause’ we’ve parted

Because we love!

Birds Have Flown

Its winter on the shoreline and all the birds have flown away

Yes its winter on the shoreline and all the birds have flown away

Oh how I miss my baby

I thought that she was going to stay

The river is cold in winter but its warm here by the fireside

Yes the river is cold in winter but its warm here by the fireside

Won’t you stay here with me darling

From the winter’s chill babe we can hide

Ya! I know, I know, I know, that the birds come back in spring

Yes I know, I know, I know, that the birds come back in spring

But it’s a long wait through the winter

Till I’ll hear their sweet songs once again

Well the spring is coming soon and the birds will be back to stay

Yes the spring is coming soon and the birds will be back to stay

Soon followed by the summer

With all their lovely feathered sin

Song For Carol

Was it our place, in time, sweet Caroline

A place, for me and you

And the days, go by, children no longer cry

Will we, pretend, we’re young again

I meant, the vows, that we, once said

Now the kids, are grown, and we’re all alone

It’ll be, like when, we began

I see a bride’s, bouquet, and a warm, wedding day

You’re as beautiful as you looked, back then

I meant, the vows, that we, once said

With a ice, cold can, and the Marlboro Man

Let’s, ride off, into the sun

And we’ll remember when, like we were young, again

I still, love the wind, in your hair

I meant, the vows, that we, once said

This is our place, in time, sweet Caroline

Time, for me, and you

As the days go by, watching grandchildren cry

And we, pretend, we’re young again

I meant, the vows, that we, once said
